Shark Bay

We headed down South to Carnarvon, which is famous for vegetables and fruits. We hoped to buy there affordable and fresh fruits, but some storms in December ruined the most of the coming harvest. For us it was annoying but for the farmers it was existential. So we got only fruits from the supermarket like usually.

Than we visited the Shark Bay.
The first highlight was the stroll over the boardwalk at the Stromatolites. The creatures are Cyanobakterias - producing oxygen via photosynthesis - from a species, which lives since 3,5 billion years on the planet and is the eldest living thing. When it appeared the atmosphere had only 1% oxygen and within 1,7 billion years they raised the part of oxygen up to 21%, which made it possible, that other creatures, which needed oxygen, could developed. So it was an exciting trip into the early history of the world.

But we also loved the nice beaches and the marine wildlife there, but we found it mostly not where they are supposed to be. We saw for example a huge turtle only 15 m away from us swimming along the beach. The exception were Monkey Mia with its Dolphins, there Dolphins came and swam with swimming tourists, which was amazing and an extraordinary experience.

You can visit the Francois Peron NP only by 4WD vehicles, the roads are very sandy and sometimes hard to drive, but like always the worst the road the better views, so we came to really nice white beach and we were alone by ourselves, far away from the next settlements, no disturbing lights made an excellent bright and star sprinkling heaven.
