After 24 years I came back to Greece. I didn’t expect too much. I know there are many changes. Meanwhile freecamping in Greece is forbidden, but they see it very relaxed, they don’t take it very serious.
The 2nd day we arrived at Stavros usually a stopover for a couple of days in the late 80ies when we travelled to the Near East. My favorite bight was very crowded and poluted with garbage from tourists. Two bights further it was still poluted but not so crowded and ok for one night. Also in former times garbage was a problem in Greece, though we were very glad to find a bight at Sithonia which is the middle finger of Chalkidike where it was not too crowded and pretty clean. There we spent some days at the beach, relaxing and swimming, even Gisi found the 28 degrease not too cold to enjoy the sea.
We left for Thessaloniki where we hoped to find a campground with internet and all the other facilities we missed the last days. But there was none or so well hidden that we couldn’t find. Even in Edessa with the highest waterfalls of Greece is no Campground. We slept at the ruins of the ancient Loggon…
Next day we reached Macedonia without finding any internet facilities.
